Dr. Katherine Saenger graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 1990.

Dr. Saenger partnered with Dr. Lanford in 1993 to open Bees Ferry Veterinary Hospital after having worked together at another vet clinic. Bees Ferry Veterinary Hospital is now Charleston's largest AAHA accredited general practice.

Dr. Saenger is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and she strives to keep Bees Ferry on the cutting edge of feline veterinary medicine. She is also a certified veterinary journalist (ASVJ) and has contributed to The Island Connection, Island Eye News, and Charleston Doggy Town.

Dr. Saenger enjoys traveling, sailing, cycling, and cross-country skiing. She has lived in Cairo, Egypt; Maribor, Slovenia; and Mbabane, Swaziland where she opened a spay-neuter clinic.
